YOUTH EDUCATION

Good Shepherd offers a continuous Christian Education program, beginning with our "My Grown-Up & Me" class.  This class is for infants through age 2, and parents.  It is overseen by parent leaders and meets on the first Sunday of every month (except in July, August and September).  We hope to add an additional Sunday, the third Sunday of every month.

Once a child reaches age 3, they move into our PreK classroom with other children in PreK 3 & 4.  Children in PreK, Kindergarten, First and Second grade meet together in the one-room Sunday School classroom.  There are 8 adult teachers, two per Sunday, and they rotate, teaching once a month.

Students in grades 3 through 6 meet in the Fellowship Hall.  There are 8 adult teachers and each teacher will have an aide. The teachers teach once a month on a rotating basis.

Confirmation class takes place for students in 7th and 8th grade.  They meet every other Thursday afternoon with Pastor Jay from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Once a youth is confirmed, they continue, or can volunteer, to be acolytes, lectors, greeters, ushers, Communion Assistants and to hold other positions within the church.

For adults, we offer two Bible studies -- one on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m to 9 p.m., and another on Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to 9:50 p.m.
